Apatite is a group of phosphate minerals Ca₅(PO₄)₃(OH,F,Cl) commonly found as accessory minerals in igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks. It is the most abundant phosphorus-bearing mineral on Earth and serves as the primary source of phosphorus for fertilizers, chemicals, and industrial applications. It comes in various colors, including green, blue, yellow, and purple, and is known for its crystal forms, which can be hexagonal.
